How are the two types of packaging tape distributed?
BOPP tape and water activated paper tape are used to seal cartons according to two different processes.
Seal the carton with BOPP tape
BOPP tape is usually applied using a handheld tape gun. First, the user locates the leading edge of the tape roll. They then pressed that length of tape to the side of the carton and, while applying constant pressure, pulled the tape gun and sealed it along the seam. This pressure is critical because tape has no ability to form bonds other than force applied by the user. Then press the tape onto the carton.

BOPP tape often requires multiple strips to close the package for shipping, so the process needs to be repeated. Users also have the option of applying tape to additional seams, in which case they must rotate the package to get the correct angle to use the tape gun. Overall, sealing
individual cartons is a very physical and often repetitive process.

Apply reinforced packing tape or kraft tape using a manual or motorized tape dispenser. These tape dispensers dispense just the right amount of moisture to activate the adhesive and then dispense pre-cut strips of user-specified lengths. The tape is placed on the seam by hand and can be applied with light pressure as the adhesive penetrates the surface of the carton and forms a strong bond with it.
The bond was quickly established and the package was securely sealed. Usually, only a strip of paper wrapping tape is required. Repeat the process if additional parts are needed to add security to the sides of the carton (forming an "H" pattern). Physical manipulation of the carton in order to apply the tape is minimal.
